Angels vs. Mariners

Friday night, Devin and I had a date night. We went to an Angels game in Anaheim with our friends Mike and Christian. I know, you're thinking, "but Sarah, you HATE baseball!" And you're right. I would never watch it on TV, but I'll see any sport live. We won 4 tickets at a raffle last month from the charity event Devin's work was involved in. We were so excited to go! Sonya was nice enough to babysit for us.

The excitement builds as we arrive in the stadium parking lot!

All pumped up to see our first MLB game! Go Angels!

As soon as we entered the park, we went straight for the consession stand because there was surprisingly no line. Devin and I had been craving hot dogs and peanuts all day! We wanted to get the full baseball experience. This Bratwurst with the "works" was $7.25 and was worth EVERY penny! Soooo yummy!

On the chart on their website, it looked like our seats were way up in the nosebleed area. But once we got there, we were quite pleased!

Our view of the game was not bad at all.

We got an extra bonus after the game because it was "Fireworks Friday!" We definitely had the best seats in the stadium for the fireworks show and it was AWESOME!

We decided to hang out in the parking lot after the game and wait for most of the traffic to clear out. Plus, the weather was so nice, we just wanted to enjoy being outside for a while before heading back to the hot desert. We had so much fun, we even talked about going again soon!

4th of July Weekend

We started off playing ball with Connor at Michele's house Saturday morning.

Then we went to my friend Debbie's house for BBQ and swim party.

Proudly sporting her red, white and blue on 4th of July. Every time Kayla sees me with the camera now, she stops to pose and say "cheese!"

Since Indio canceled their fireworks show to save money this year, we had to go to Palm Desert. We parked at the Joslyn Senior Center (only a few blocks away from the Civic Park where the fireworks were being launched). It was the perfect spot! We had an awesome view and we avoided all the traffic/crowds. Here's Devin and Kayla snacking on grapes while we wait for the show to start.

So trying to take photos of the fireworks wasn't my greatest idea. I wish I would have thought to switch the camera over to video mode and recorded the show. Oh well, there's always next year.

At least I managed to get a good shot of my favorite, the smiley face!

Kayla has finally learned to play nice with the dog so Roxy doesn't just run and hide from her anymore.
